BIOGRAPHY

 

Master Chief Boatswains Mate AJ Pulkkinen enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1999 out of Spencer, Ohio. She assumed the duties as Command Master Chief for Sector Hampton Roads in July of 2017. Previously, she served as Officer in Charge of Coast Guard Station Portsmouth, VA, and Officer in Charge of USCGC CLEAT, home ported in Philadelphia, PA. Her previous assignments include USCGC CHASE, San Diego, CA; CG Station Rio Vista, CA in the Sacramento Delta; USCGC COCHITO, Little Creek, VA; USCGC HALIBUT, Marina del Rey, CA; and CG Station Oxford on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. BMCM AJ Pulkkinen's personal awards include four CG Commendation Medals, three CG Achievement Medals, and five CG Good Conduct Medals.  BMCM Pulkkinen also proudly wears the OIC Afloat and Ashore Devices, Permanent Cutterman Insignia, and the Advanced Boat Forces Insignia.
