Activities Europe provides inspection services for U.S.-flagged vessels, ensuring compliance with domestic regulations and international standards. These include the areas of marine safety, pollution prevention, vessel materiel condition and construction, among others. Our office also performs inspections and audits of facilities that service Coast Guard-approved lifesaving equipment and those that produce such equipment for future outfitting on U.S.-flagged ships. Activities Europe is fully engaged with all stakeholders in carrying out the Alternate Compliance Program (ACP).



                  




US Flagged Vessel or MODU Inspection Requests

Inspections are performed to grant Certificates of Inspection and credit for annual re-inspections, grant credit for drydock and internal structure exams, as well as to provide oversight during Maritime Security Program (MSP) reflags and ACP handover surveys.

Life Raft Servicing Requests

Inspections verify compliance with established standards and regulations, as well as confirm the physical integrity and operational suitability of primary lifesaving equipment.

Lifesaving Equipment Inspection Requests

Inspections provide oversight of the prototyping and production of life boats and other rescue crafts, as well as the davits and winches associated with onboard deployment.

Authorized Classification Society (ACS) Notification of ACP Vessel Attendance Inspections yield Coast Guard oversight of vessel compliance with ACS rules, applicable U.S. Supplement and International Conventions.
