 The Activities Europe Inspections division performs inspections for safety, security and environmental protection on a variety of U.S.-flagged commercial and military sealift command vessels, and compliance examinations for foriegn-flagged cruise ships and oil tankers bound for operations in US waters.

The Inspections division verifies compliance with U.S. laws and regulations and international conventions for structural integrity, vital systems, propulsion, seaworthiness, hazardous conditions, lifesaving, firefighting, and safety of navigation.

Activities Europe also oversees major U.S. flag new-building projects under construction and prototype and production testing of primary lifesaving appliances for US Coast Guard Approval.
