COMMAND
Commanding Officer, CAPT Michael Feltovic
Captain Michael Feltovic assumed the duties of Commanding Officer of Air Station New Orleans, Louisiana in June 2025. The air station is designed to operate three H-60 helicopters and provides 24-hour mission support to the coast Guard’s Heartland District in the busiest portion of the Gulf coast. CAPT Feltovic most recently served as Executive Off of Air Station Clearwater, the Coast Guard’s largest Air Station responsible for executing missions across the U.S. Southeast and Caribbean Sea.
CAPT Feltovic is a graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and was commissioned as an Ensign in 2005. His first assignment was at Sector Seattle, WA where he conducted port security operations as a Boarding Officer ashore. In 2008 he earned his Naval Aviator designation following completion of naval flight training in Pensacola, FL.
His first aviation assignment was at Air Station Cape Cod, MA where he qualified as a SAR aircraft commander in the MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter. In 2012, he was assigned to Air Station Clearwater, FL where he qualified as an Instructor Pilot/Flight Examiner and deployed throughout the Caribbean Sea in support of SAR, counter-drug (CD), and migrant interdiction operations.
He then served as a Foreign Exchange Officer with the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) in 2016 where he was assigned as Operations Officer of 442 Transport and Rescue Squadron. At 442 Squadron, he qualified as an aircraft commander in the CH-149 Cormorant helicopter and commanded SAR operations throughout the mountainous British Columbia region.
In 2020, he has assigned as Chief of Aviation, Afloat, and Ashore Safety Programs at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, D.C where he administered the Service’s Safety Management System (SMS). Following his tour at HQ, he was assigned as Operations Officer at Air Station Clearwater.
He holds a Master of Science in Human Factors Engineering from Tufts University and a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research and Computer Analysis from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. CDR Feltovic’s personal decorations include two Meritorious Service Medals, two CG Commendation Medals and three CG Achievement Medals.
Executive Officer, CDR Jesse Keyser

Commander Jesse Keyser assumed his current duties as Executive Officer (XO) of Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans in July 2025. As XO, he is responsible for the administration of all personnel, financial, and facilities requirements of the multi-mission Air Station. His unit operates three MH-60T helicopters, providing 24-hour launch capability in support of the Heartland District, Sector New Orleans, LA, and Sector Mobile, LA.
Prior to XO, he earned a Master’s degree in Human Systems Integration from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. He served his payback tour as a Requirements Manager and System Safety Team Lead at CG Headquarters, executing Engineering Technical Authority for Human Systems Integration supporting CG Major Acquisitions. He was also the Technical Warrant Holder for System Safety, including Principal for Safety of several CG Cutter programs and associated Combat Systems.
A native of Martinsburg, WV, CDR Keyser graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 2007, earning a Bachelor of Science in Management. His first operational assignment was aboard the 210’ Cutter VALIANT (Miami, FL) where he conducted CG Law Enforcement, Fisheries, and Search and Rescue missions, followed by a 3-year assignment at the Maritime Safety and Security Team (MSST) in Honolulu, HI, as a Deployable Team leader and Future Operations Officer. Following MSST Honolulu, he reported to US Navy Flight School in Pensacola, FL.
Upon completion of US Navy Flight School, he served as an Aircraft Commander in the MH-65 C/D at Air Station San Francisco, CA. His next aviation tour was at the CG Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron (HITRON), in Jacksonville, FL, where he served as an Airborne Use of Force Mission Commander, Assistant Operations Officer, and lead Flight Examiner.
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, three Coast Guard Commendation Medals, and three Coast Guard Achievement Medals.
Command Master Chief, AETCM Bryan P. Salazar

Master Chief Salazar assumed the duties of Command Master Chief of Air Station New Orleans in July of 2024. As the senior enlisted member at Air Station New Orleans, he advises the command on matters affecting the well-being, morale, and discipline of the command’s enlisted personnel. Prior to this assignment, he served as Command Master Chief at Air Station Miami, supporting 312 personnel and the operation of 10 deployable aircraft.
He previously served as Aircrew Program Manager at the Office of Aviation Forces where he oversaw aircrew requirements for all Coast Guard aircraft. In this role, he oversaw 70 pilot and aircrew training courses totaling $7 million, managed over $24 million in contracts, and established the Helicopter Flight Mechanic C School. His other assignments include Aviation Training Center, Mobile, Air Station Clearwater, Air Station Elizabeth City, Air Station Astoria, Air Station San Diego, and Coast Guard Cutter CHASE.
As a Flight Mechanic on the HH-60J and MH-60T helicopters, he deployed in support of Hurricane Katrina, Super Bowl XL, and the inauguration of President Barrack Obama. His awards include two Meritorious Service Medals, the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, three Commandant’s Letters of Commendation, and eight Good Conduct Medals in addition to various team and unit awards.
Originally from Los Angeles, California, Master Chief Salazar enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1998 and graduated from Avionics Technician Class A School in 2001. He is a graduate of the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Academy, the Senior Enlisted Leadership Course, and has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Thomas Edison State University.
