Joseph Orlando

Master Chief Orlando was born in Springfield, Pennsylvania and enlisted in the United States Coast Guard on March 30th, 1993. Master Chief Orlando assumed the duties as Command Master Chief for Sector Jacksonville on July 30, 2018. His primary responsibility is to advise the Sector Commander on issues and initiatives pertaining to all coast guard members and their families. Prior to his arrival in Jacksonville he served as Officer in Charge of the USCGC DOLPHIN in Portsmouth, Virginia. Additional command tours include Officer in Charge of USCGC GANNET in Dania Beach, Florida and Officer in Charge USCG Station Oswego on Lake Ontario.

Previous assignments include Executive Petty Officer at USCG Station Freeport, Operations Petty Officer at USCG Station Oak Island, and he served as First Lieutenant on USCGC KINGFISHER, USCGC BONITO, and USCGC POINT LOBOS. Upon completion of basic training he was assigned to USCGC TAMAROA followed by a tour on the USCGC TAMPA.

Master Chief Orlando’s awards and decorations include four Coast Guard Commendation Medals (with ‘O’ Device), two Coast Guard Achievement Medals (with ‘O’ Device), three Coast Guard Commandant’s Letter of Commendation (with ‘O’ Device), eight Coast Guard Good Conduct Medals, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Permanent Cutterman's Insignia, Coxswain Insignia, the Coast Guard Boat Force (Advanced) Insignia, and various other awards and decorations.

Master Chief Orlando is a graduate of the United States Air Force Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Academy, the Coast Guard Senior Enlisted Academy, and has completed numerous service related schools.

Master Chief Orlando has been married for 21 years to the former Jennifer Ann Yow of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
