Staff Judge Advocate

The First Coast Guard District Staff Judge Advocate provides command advice and legal counsel to all commanding officers within the First District area of responsibility as well as the District Commander. The Staff Judge Advocate and staff are experts in Coast Guard organic authorities and all disciplines of law essential to support Coast Guard missions. The Staff Judge Advocate is also responsible for aiding commands in adjudication of non-judicial punishment and when necessary prosecution of Uniform Military Code of Justice violations.

Legal Assistance Program

The First Coast Guard District Legal Assistance Program provides free legal assistance services to all active duty military members, dependents, reservists, and retirees. Our experienced legal team provides candid, accurate, timely and confidential legal advice and practical guidance based on individual needs.
