1st Coast Guard District: Protect, Save, Defend, and Enforce.


 

The United States First Coast Guard District Prevention Division protects the public, our ports, the environment and U.S. economic interests through the prevention and mitigation of maritime incidents. The Prevention Division is broken down into four branches, Inspections and Investigations including Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) compliance, Fishing Vessel SafetyRecreational Boating Safety, and Waterways Management including aids to navigation and domestic ice breaking, Coast Guard Auxiliary, and Bridges. All focus on the prevention of deaths, injuries and property damage associated with maritime transportation, fishing, and recreational boating.
