Command Master Chief, USCG Sector San Juan

Master Chief Petty Officer Bochet reported aboard Sector San Juan in June 2026, where he serves as the Silver Badge Command Master Chief, advising the Sector Commander regarding issues, policies, and initiatives pertaining to Coast Guard personnel and their families assigned to Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Master Chief Bochet previously served as the Maintenance Augmentation Team Coordinator, Base Honolulu’s Naval Engineering Department; Auxiliary Division Chief and Senior Enlisted Leader, CGC JUNPER (WLB-301), Honolulu, HI; Engineer Petty Officer, CGC KITTIWAKE (WPB-87316) Honolulu, HI; MK-06 Hydraulics Instructor, TRACEN Yorktown, Yorktown, VA; CGC TARPON (WPB-87310) St. Petersburg, FL; CGC CROCODILE (WPB-87369) St. Petersburg, FL; CGC OCRACOKE (WPB-1307) St. Petersburg, FL; Coast Guard Station San Juan, San Juan, PR; and Coast Guard Station Jones Beach, Long Island, NY.

Master Chief Bochet is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Leadership School Class 105, Chief Petty Officer’s Academy Class 291 and completed Chief’s Call to Initiation in the fall of 2020. He is also a graduate of various service and leadership schools. He holds a Journeyman Certificate from Department of Labor as Refrigeration Mechanic.

His personal awards include three Coast Guard Commendation Medals, four Coast Guard Achievement Medals, Army Achievement Medal and Coast Guard Letter of Commendation Ribbon, all with operational distinguishing device. In addition to various other personal and unit level awards, he wears the Permanent Cutterman Insignia.

Master Chief Bochet is a native of Guánica, Puerto Rico. He is married to former Karina M. Echevarría-Vélez and they are proud parents to their children Cecile & Hugo.
