WELCOME TO CGC WALNUT


United States Coast Guard Cutter (USCGC) Walnut (WLB-205) is the fifth cutter in the Juniper-class 225 ft (69 m) of seagoing buoy tenders and is the second ship to bear the name. USCGC WALNUT was previously home-ported on Sand Island in Honolulu, Hawaii. USCGC WALNUT moved homeport over the winter of 2020 to Pensacola, FL. USCGC WALNUT was constructed by the Marinette Marine Corporation in Marinette, Wisconsin, and the second cutter to bear the name. USCGC WALNUT was launched on 22 August 1998. Aided by automated engineering controls, computer based navigation, and communication equipment, WALNUT is equipped to perform search and rescue (SAR), law enforcement, homeland security, pollution response, and domestic icebreaking missions, as well as fulfilling her primary mission of servicing and maintaining aids to navigation (ATON).
