Construction was completed in June 1970 and the station has been in operation since July 1970. In the 1980’s the station was temporarily closed but was reopened as a sub-unit of Station Oswego. In June of 1996, the staff was increased, and the station was upgraded to an independent unit. After 9/11, the crew complement of 10 was increased to its present size and augmented with a full complement of Reserve and Auxiliary personnel.
