Coast Guard Station (Small) DuSable Harbor

Coast Guard Station (Small) DuSable Harbor is a sub-unit of Station Chicago. It is a seasonal station open from May 1st through October 31st each year and is manned by one boat crew from Chicago. The station is housed in the old Chicago Life Saving Station just north of Navy Pier, adjacent to the Chicago River Locks. Station (Small) DuSable Harbor is commonly known as the Chicago Marine Safety Station as it is a joint facility shared with the Chicago Police Marine and Helicopter Division and the Illinois Conservation Police. The Coast Guard and the City of Chicago recently spent more than $3 million to renovate the building and it was officially opened in 2005.
