Commander Jonathan J. Wolstenholme
Commander Wolstenholme joined the cutter force of Virgina as Commanding Officer of CGC Northland in June 2026. He currently leads the 270’ cutter in the execution of Coast Guard maritime missions throughout the Atlantic Ocean including Search and Rescue, Law Enforcement Operations, Immigration Interdictions, and Counter-Narcotic Operations. In this capacity, he is responsible for organization, administration, good order & discipline, morale, financial management, training and readiness while protecting United States Maritime Transportation System.
Commander Wolstenholme, a native of Bourne, MA, graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and from University of Florida in 2014 with a Masters of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering.
Commander Wolstenholme has served ten years afloat assigned as Deck Watch Officer on USCGC SPENCER (WMEC 905) homeported in Boston, MA, Executive Officer aboard USCGC KEY BISCAYNE (WPB 1339) based in Key West, FL, Operations Officer of USCGC STEADFAST (WMEC 623) homeported in Astoria, OR, Commanding Officer of USCGC RAYMOND EVANS (WPC 1110) in Key West, FL, and most recently as Executive Officer of USCGC STRATTON (WMSL 752) in Alameda, CA. During his career he conducted maritime law enforcement, search and rescue, throughout the Caribbean Sea, Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
While not at sea, CDR Wolstenholme has served in the Civil Engineering community as the Facility Engineer at Base Elizabeth City, North Carolina and Air Station Clearwater, Florida ensuring the operations and maintenance of two of the Coast Guard’s largest air stations including the aviation fleet maintenance facility, enlisted aviation training center, and two remote aviation deployment sites in the Bahamas. Additionally, he served as the Chief of Construction and most recently the Executive Officer at Civil Engineering Unit Providence managing approximately $30M in major maintenance and repair to shore infrastructure throughout New England.
Commander Wolstenholme maintains a Civil Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Florida. His military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, four Coast Guard Commendation Medals, three Achievement Medals, two Humanitarian Service Medals, an Armed Forces Service Medal, the Commandant’s Letter of Commendation ribbon, three Coast Guard Sea Service ribbons as well as various unit, team, and service awards and a permanent Coast Guard cutterman insignia.

MKC Ethan T. Stanford
MKC Ethan Stanford was born and raised in Virginia Beach Virginia and enlisted into the Coast Guard in January 2011. After graduating USCG boot camp from company Mike-184 MKC Stanford was assigned to USCGC Vigorous as a Fireman in the auxiliary division. MKC Stanford departed CGC Vigorous and reported to MK-A School in early 2012 where he would receive his rating specific knowledge and then graduated as an MK3 in April 2012. Upon his graduation of MK-A school MKC Stanford received orders to USCGC Hariet Lane.
MKC Stanford reported to CGC Harriet Lane in April 2012 where he was assigned to the Main Propulsion division. MKC advanced to the rank of MK2 on 1SEPT2015 while attached to CGC Harriet Lane. Upon MKC Stanford's end of tour length he decided to extend onboard CGC Harriet Lane for one more year where he would go onto receive his Permeant Cutterman's Pin. In early 2016 MKC Stanford received orders to Tracen Yorktown Boat Forces Cutter Operations. MKC Stanford Reported to Tracen Yorktown BFCO in June 2016 and was assigned to the 38-SPCTB shop. MKC Stanford achieved the rank of MK1 on 1OCT2019 while attached to Tracen Yorktown BFCO.
MKC Stanford received orders to Base Portsmouth MAT in 2020. MKC Stanford Reported to Base Portsmouth MAT department in July 2020. MKC Stanford advanced to the rank of MKC on 3MAR2023. While attached to Base Portsmouth MAT MKC Stanford attend the CPO Acadamy and graduated the class of 296 in May 2023, MKC also completed Chiefs Call to Initiation in the Fall of 2023 with the Tidewater Mess. MKC Stanford reported to CGC Northland in January 2024 and serves as the Unit Command Chief and Main Propulsion Chief.
