USCGC SPENCER (WMEC 905) is one of six 270-foot Medium Endurance Cutters homeported at Base Portsmouth, Virginia. SPENCER executes missions including Law Enforcement, Search and Rescue, Living Marine Resource Protection, Homeland Security, and Defense Operations, International training, and humanitarian operations.
SPENCER has patrolled the offshore waters from Maine to Florida, the Gulf of America, the Caribbean Sea, Western Africa, and the Eastern Pacific.
Following completion of the Service Life Extension Program (SLEP), SPENCER stands ready to meet today’s operational demands with enhanced capabilities and renewed commitment. As the pride of Portsmouth, SPENCER and her crew continue to uphold the highest standards of service, safeguarding our nation’s maritime interests at home and abroad.
