CDR Thomas C. Rodzewicz
Commanding Officer, USCGC SPENCER (WMEC-905)
Commander Thomas C. Rodzewicz reported to SPENCER from the USCGC DAUNTLESS (WMEC 624) homeported out of Pensacola, Florida where he served as the Executive Officer for two years.
He has held a variety of sea-going and staff positions throughout his career, including 7 years on four Coast Guard Cutters. Before reporting to CGC DAUNTLESS, he served as an Instructor at the United States Coast Guard Academy and Engineering Training Officer of USCGC EAGLE (WIX 327) responsible for the education and training of the service’s future officers. He previously served as Engineer Officer onboard USCGC DILIGENCE (WMEC 616).
Commander Rodzewicz served as a Port Engineer for the 9th Coast Guard District and was a qualified Deck Watch Officer onboard USCGC THETIS (WMEC 910) while serving as the Damage Control assistant and later relieving as the Engineer Officer.
He graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 2003 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and earned two Master’s Degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2010.
Commander Rodzewicz’ awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Coast Guard Commendation Medal, Coast Guard Achievement Medals, Joint Forces Expeditionary Medal, and Humanitarian Service Medal. He resides in Swampscott, MA with his wife, Stephanie and his children Keagen, Avery, and Liam.
