CDR Justin W. Strock

 

Commander Justin W. Strock, a native of Damascus, Maryland, graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 2004 with Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Engineering. 

A permanent cutterman, CDR Strock previously served aboard five cutters.  He most recently served as the Executive Officer aboard CGC CALHOUN (WMSL-759) in Charleston, SC. He has served as Engineer Officer aboard CGC JAMES (WMSL-754) in Charleston, SC, CGC CONFIDENCE (WMEC-619) in Cape Canaveral, FL and CGC BOUTWELL (WHEC-719) in Alameda, CA. He began his sea going career aboard CGC VENTUROUS (WMEC-625) in St. Petersburg FL as the Damage Control Assistant.

Ashore, CDR Strock served as the Coast Guard Base Charleston Naval Engineering Department Head, Supervisor of the Afloat Training Organization office in Mayport, FL, Supervisor of Sector Field Office Eastern Shore in Chincoteague, VA, Condition Based Maintenance Program Manager for the Engineering Services Division at the Surface Forces Logistics Center in Baltimore, MD, and 110’ WPB Type Support Manager at the Engineering Logistics Center in Baltimore, MD.

CDR Strock holds a Master of Science in Ocean Engineering from Virginia Tech. His personal awards include six Coast Guard Commendation Medals with Operational Distinguishing Device, two Coast Guard Achievement Medals, various other personal and unit awards.
