EXECUTIVE OFFICER


Commander Anthony J. Guido Jr.

 

Commander Anthony Guido assumed the duties as Executive Officer at Air Station Savannah in 2023. He is a 2007 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and holds a Master of Public Policy/Administration degree from the University of Pennsylvania. 

Commander Guido recently served as Operations Officer at Air Station Savannah, responsible as the Chief Pilot to 98 pilots/aircrew and 24-hour support to the Coast Guard’s Seventh District, Sector Charleston, SC, Sector Jacksonville, FL, and National Air Defense missions nationwide.

His previous tours include program manager and strategic analyst in the Office of Program Analysis and Evaluation (CG-8/PAE) and the Office of Program Management and Assessment (DCO-81) at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington D.C. In these assignments, Commander Guido worked on the Vice Commandant mandated 20-year Aviation Asset Mix Strategic Study and managed program offices to include Maritime Law Enforcement (CG-MLE), Maritime Security Response (CG-MSR), CG Intelligence (CG-2), International Affairs (DCO-I), and Defense Readiness (CG-ODO).

Prior to this Headquarters assignment, Commander Guido received a Master of Public Policy/Administration degree with a Certificate in Politics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2018. His previous operational tours include assignments as Assistant Operations Officer Rotary Wing Air Intercept at Air Station Atlantic City from 2013 to 2017 and duty standing pilot at Air Station New Orleans from 2009 to 2013.

Commander Guido graduated with honors from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He was then selected to attend Naval Flight Training in Pensacola, FL for basic- fixed and rotary-wing training in squadrons VT-2 and HT-28 and was designated a Coast Guard Aviator in February 2009.

 

He has accumulated over 2,500 flight hours and is certified as an Airline Transport Pilot and Instrument Flight Instructor. His awards include the Air Medal, the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, the Coast Guard Achievement Medal, and numerous operational and unit awards.
