Command Philosophy

 

Captain Jason Ingram assumed the duties as Sector Key West Commander and Captain of the Port in May, 2022. As the Sector Commander, he leads over 700 Coast Guardsmen and Auxiliary personnel who conduct Coast Guard missions across 55,000 square nautical miles that include the prestine Florida Keys. Previously, he served as Chief of Response, Sector Virginia.

Captain Ingram began his Coast Guard career in 1991. After completing basic training at Cape May, NJ, he was assigned to Coast Guard Station Key West, FL. He completed his enlisted career with the Coast Guard and received a Baccalaureate of Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VA Tech) in 1998.  In 2000 he decided to continue his career in the Coast Guard and completed Officer Candidate School (OCS) at New London, CT.  After completing OCS, he was assigned to Coast Guard Group Cape Hatteras, NC as the Assistant Operations Officer, Administration Officer, and Deputy Group Commander.  He has also been stationed at the Fifth Coast Guard District, Office of Search and Rescue, Operational Planning, Aide to Commander Fifth Coast Guard District, Commanding Officer Station Ocean City, MD., Commanding Officer Station Atlantic City and Station (Small) Great Egg, NJ., Training Center Yorktown, VA. Boat Forces Standardization & Doctrine Chief, Commanding Officer Maritime Safety and Security Team Miami, FL. (91114) and Atlantic Area Incident Management Branch Chief  located in Portsmouth, VA. where he supported and oversaw national and international response efforts to Hurricanes HARVEY, IRMA, MARIA and NATE that caused over $180 billion in damage.

In 2005, he received a Masters in Business Administration from Averett University. In 2014, he received a Masters in Homeland Security from American Military University. In 2017, he received his Certified Emergency Manager Credential (CEM).

Captain Ingram’s personal decorations include Coast Guard Meritorious Service Medal (3), Coast Guard Commendation Medal (4), Coast Guard Achievement Medal, Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal and several Unit and Service awards.

Captain Ingram is a native of Virginia Beach, VA and married to Mrs. Tondaleya Ingram and they have two children, Mason (19) and Mackenzi (17).
