USCGC BUCKTHORN (WLI-642) History

The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter BUCKTHORN (WLI-642) was built by the Mobile Ship Repair, Inc. in Mobile, AL and was commissioned August 18, 1963. She was first homeported in Detroit, MI, then transferred to Buffalo, NY in 1967, and transferred once again to Sault Sainte Marie, MI in 1970.
