The Inspections and Investigations Branch provides regional oversight to the following programs:

• Safety, security, and marine environmental protection inspections
• Port State control programs
• Investigation of marine casualties and accidents
• Oversight and coordination for controlling the introduction of aquatic invasive species into the Great Lakes or Western Rivers system.
