The U.S. Coast Guard Great Lakes is responsible for all Coast Guard operations throughout the five Great Lakes, the Saint Lawrence Seaway and parts of the surrounding states including 6,700 miles of shoreline and 1,500 miles of the international border with Canada. The 6,000 active duty, reserve, civilian and auxiliary men and women who make up the U.S. Coast Guard Great Lakes deliver multi-mission services in search and rescue, maritime safety and security, environmental protection, maritime law enforcement, aids to navigation and icebreaking.

(2/2) A third PIW was confirmed unaccounted for. AIRSTA #Detroit MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew launched and located the third PIW still treading water. Three STA members aboard a TowBoat vessel assisted in rescuing the third PIW before transporting them to awaiting EMS at STA.

(2/2) STA RB-M followed the jet skier to the location, brought the injured person aboard, treated their wounds and transferred them ashore to Monroe County EMS.
