Coast Guard Station Sheboygan History

Life Saving Station Sheboygan was established on the south side of the Sheboygan River in 1876. In 1890, a new facility was constructed at the entrance to the harbor on the north side of the river. The station remains in this location to this day. The original building, or parts of it, was still in use until 2007 when it was torn down to make way for a new and modern facility. The command housing unit was converted to offices in 2003 and now serves as a historical reminder of Station Sheboygan's rich history in the community.
