Coast Guard Station Charlevoix

Coast Guard Station Charlevoix's missions include Search and Rescue, Maritime Law Enforcement, Homeland Security, and Ice Rescue. The area of responsibility (AOR) for Station Charlevoix runs from Cross Village to Leland. It extends into Lake Michigan to Beaver Island, and the North and South Fox Islands. Inland waterways and the many smaller lakes add to the approximately 2,500 square mile AOR. Station Charlevoix maintains three boats, each with it's own specialty and mission. During the spring through fall, the 45' RB-M and 29' RB-S are the station's response assets. During the winter months, the 14' ice skiff is the primary asset.
