COMMAND MASTER CHIEF, SECTOR NORTH CAROLINA

 

Master Chief Petty Officer Jolena Kinsman assumed the duties as the Command Master Chief for Sector North Carolina in June 2025. She serves as the senior enlisted leader to the sector commander. In this capacity she advises the sector commander on issues and initiatives pertaining to approximately 1,300 Active, Reserve, and Auxiliary Coast Guard women and men operating eight boat stations, three aids to navigation teams, two marine safety detachments, two sector field offices, and one cutter in an area of responsibility which spans 3,375 nautical miles of inland, river, and coastal waterways, two military and economic strategic ports, and three interstate lakes. Most recently, Kinsman served as the command master chief at Sector Eastern Great Lakes.

Kinsman, originally from Mansfield, Ohio, enlisted in the Coast Guard in July 2004 and attended Recruit Basic Training in Cape May, NJ (Charlie 169). Her previous assignments include Group Mobile, Aviation Training Center Mobile, Sector Miami, Naval Engineering Support Unit Miami, Station Ocean City, Station Sand Key, Sector San Juan, Atlantic Area Command, and Chief Petty Officer Academy.

Kinsman holds a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. She is a graduate of the Air Force Non-Commissioned Officer Academy Class, Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Academy Class CCXVI (226), and Coast Guard Senior Enlisted Leadership Course 89.

Her personnel awards include Meritorious Service Medal, two Coast Guard Commendation Medals, three Coast Guard Achievement Medals, and three Coast Guard Commandant Letter of Commendation Ribbons.
