USCGC STURGEON, located in Port Aransas, TX, conducts operations along the southern Texas coast and US/Mexico border.  Operations focus on search and rescue, illegal foreign fishing vessel interdictions, location and removal of illegal fishing gear, fisheries regulation enforcement of US-flagged vessels, and prevention of human and narcotics smuggling.
