SECTOR ST. PETERSBURG

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT & FORCE READINESS DEPARTMENT

MISSION: The Emergency Management & Force Readiness (EMFR) Department coordinates contingency planning, training, and exercise programs that strengthen Sector readiness for hurricanes, natural disasters, mass-rescue operations, and hazardous-material incidents. EMFR maintains the Sector’s Incident Management Team (IMT), oversees unit preparedness assessments, and manages continuity-of-operations and mobilization planning for active-duty, reserve, and auxiliary personnel. Through partnerships with federal, state, and local agencies, EMFR integrates Coast Guard capabilities into regional emergency-management frameworks to protect lives, property, and the marine environment within the Sector’s Area of Responsibility.
