Procedures for reporting aboard:

Stay in contact with your sponsor and keep him/her informed of your travel plans. Your sponsor will plan on meeting you at the airport if you’re flying in or when you arrive at the ship if you’re driving.

Plan on meeting us in Kittery, ME at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard if we are in homeport. If we are away from homeport, report to Base Boston (call (617) 223.3456 for details). Report during work hours.

Review TAHOMA's Orientation Bill and Damage Control Personnel Qualification Standards (DC PQS) requirements prior to reporting aboard.

After you arrive, your sponsor will escort you around during normal work hours to help you with your check-in sheet. You will have two working days to complete the check-in process.

Administrative Requirements:

Have the following in-hand when you report:

  • Original set of orders
  • Unit PDR
  • Medical Record
  • Training Record

The YN1 will help you complete your travel claim. All travel claims must be submitted to PSC within 72 hours of reporting to TAHOMA so bring your receipts.

Upon reporting you will receive a check-in sheet and a Damage Control Personnel Qualification Standards (DC PQS) handbook. If you don’t get these when you arrive, ask your sponsor for them. Review the Orientation Bill for specific requirements.
