Master Chief Petty Officer Rebecca J. Wyness 

Sector Miami Command Master Chief

 

 

Master Chief Rebecca (Becky) Wyness graduated from Coast Guard Recruit Training Center Cape May, NJ in August 1999. She currently serves as the Command Master Chief for Sector Miami. Her previous assignments include Team Leader for Sector Miami Ready for Operations Team and Chief of the Mess for the Greater Miami Area; Officer in Charge of Station Gulfport, Mississippi; Officer in Charge of Station Michigan City, Indiana; Executive Petty Officer of Coast Guard Cutter (CGC) SOCKEYE home ported in Bodega Bay, California; Executive Petty Officer of CGC STINGRAY home ported in Mobile, Alabama; CGC MONOMOY home ported in Manama, Bahrain, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom; CGC TYBEE home ported in San Diego, California; and Station New Orleans, Louisiana.

 

Master Chief Wyness is a graduate of the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Academy class CLVI and the Coast Guard Senior Enlisted Leadership Course class 01-17. She has her 100 ton Merchant Mariners license and has a Certificate in Nutrition/Health Management through Purdue University. She also earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University and a Master of Science degree in Management, Strategy and Leadership from Michigan State University.

 

Master Chief Wyness’s personal awards include four Coast Guard Commendation Medals with Operational Distinguishing Device, two Coast Guard Achievement Medals with the Operational Distinguishing Device, one Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal and one Letter of Commendation.


Master Chief Wyness is married to Laura Wyness of Chicago, IL. They have a daughter, Adelaide Mae.
