Captain James Bendle
Sector Commander
Captain Bendle enlisted in 1997 and was assigned to the Coast Guard Station Atlantic City, NJ where he advanced from Seamen to Boatswains' Mate Second Class. He was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in 2002. His previous assignments include Group Woods Hole Operations Department, Executive Officer of the Northeast Regional Fisheries Training Center, Commanding Officer of Coast Guard Station Grand Isle, Assistant School Chief of Officer Candidate School, Enforcement Division Chief at Sector Honolulu, Officer of Personnel Management (OPM), and Sector Maryland-National Capital Region where he served as Deputy Sector Commander.
CAPT Bendle is a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania and earned a Master's Degree in Human Resources Management from Touro University.
CAPT Bendle has been awarded the Coast Guard Meritorious Service Medal (2), the Coast Guard Commendation Medal (4), and has earned the advanced Boat Forces Insignia.
He and his wife, Katherine, have two children, Peter and Paige.
