Coast Guard Station Cleveland Harbor

Station Cleveland Harbor was established in 1875 with the Lifesaving Service originally located on Whiskey Island was relocated to the mouth of the Cuyahoga River in 1940.  It has seen several location/building changes over its 148-year history.  Eventually, the station was moved to East 9th St. Pier in 1976 where it has remained ever since. The building built in 1940 at the mouth of Cuyahoga River still stands and has been designated as an historical site and undergone multiple renovations.  It was abandoned at one point, and it was also utilized as a night club in the 1990s. Currently, it is being utilized by Cleveland Metro Parks.
