Captain James Bendle
Sector Commander

Captain Bendle enlisted in 1997 and was assigned to the Coast Guard Station Atlantic City, NJ where he advanced from Seamen to Boatswains' Mate Second Class. He was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in 2002. His previous assignments include Group Woods Hole Operations Department, Executive Officer of the Northeast Regional Fisheries Training Center, Commanding Officer of Coast Guard Station Grand Isle, Assistant School Chief of Officer Candidate School, Enforcement Division Chief at Sector Honolulu, Officer of Personnel Management (OPM), and Sector Maryland-National Capital Region where he served as Deputy Sector Commander.

CAPT Bendle is a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania and earned a Master's Degree in Human Resources Management from Touro University.

CAPT Bendle has been awarded the Coast Guard Meritorious Service Medal (2), the Coast Guard Commendation Medal (4), and has earned the advanced Boat Forces Insignia.

He and his wife, Katherine, have two children, Peter and Paige.

Senior Chief Blake Rausch
Command Senior Chief

Senior Chief Blake J. Rausch assumed duties of Command Senior Chief, Sector Northern Great Lakes, in May 2021. Senior Chief Rausch's previous assignments include Aviation Training Center in Mobile, AL, Sector Sault Sainte Marie, MI, Air Station Traverse City, MI, CGC MACKINAW in Cheboygan, MI, Station Noyo River in Fort Bragg, NC, Patrol Forces Southwest Asia in Manama, Bahrain, Storekeeper Class "A" School in Petaluma, CA, and Station Michigan City, IN.

Senior Chief Rausch's Personal Awards include three Coast Guard Commendation Medals, two Coast Guard Achievement Medals, and four Commandant Letters of Commendation and various other personal and unit awards.

Senior Chief Rausch is a native of Cadott, WI, and is married to the former Miss Katie Wilkerson of Cheboygan, MI. Together they have three children, Ethan, Ashton, and Emmy. Together they enjoy camping, boating, and dirt track racing.
