Captain Anthony R. Jones
Sector Commander

Captain Jones assumed the duties as Commander of Sector Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan in July of 2020. As Sector Commander, he leads more than 750 Active Duty, Reserve, Civilian, and Auxiliary personnel, and employs 23 boats assigned to seven multi-mission stations and two Aids to Navigation Teams. His official authorities include Captain of the Port, Officer in Charge of Marine Inspection, Federal On-Scene Coordinator, Federal Maritime Security Coordinator, and Search and Rescue Mission Coordinator. The Sector Sault Sainte Marie area of responsibility includes Lake Superior, the St. Marys River, northern Lake Michigan, and northern Lake Huron, an area that encompasses 1,850 miles of shoreline and 560 miles of international maritime border with Canada.

Prior to this assignment, Captain Jones served as the Chief of the Personnel Services Division (PSD) of the Personnel Services Command at Coast Guard Headquarters, in Washington, DC. Before reporting to PSD, he served as the Chief of Budget Formulation for the Deputy Commandant for Mission Support, at Coast Guard Headquarters, Executive Officer at Air Station Elizabeth City, NC, Chief of Resources, Aeronautical Engineering at Coast Guard Headquarters, Assistant Engineering Officer at Air Station Miami, Duty Pilot at Air Stations Kodiak and Atlantic City, and as a Deck Watch Officer aboard the Coast Guard Cutter SHERMAN.

Captain Jones is a 1996 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Marine and Environmental Science. He also earned a Master of Science in Industrial Administration from Purdue University.

Captain Jones is married to the former Gretchen Wagner of Lithopolis, OH. They have a 17 year old son, Kahle, 14 year old son, Haydn, 9 year old son, Cameron, and 8 year old son, Samuel.

Captain Amy E. Florentino
Deputy Sector Commander

Captain Amy Florentino assumed duties as Deputy Commander for Sector Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, in July 2019, where she implements the Sector Commander's vision and strategies for all Coast Guard missions across the Sector's area of responsibility on Lake Superior, the St. Marys River, northern Lake Michigan, and northern Lake Huron, and area that encompasses 1,850 miles of shoreline and 560 miles of international maritime border with Canada. In fulfilling these responsibilities, Captain Florentino leads more than 750 active duty, reserve, civilian, and auxiliary personnel, and employs 23 boats assigned to seven multi-mission stations, two seasonal stations, and two Aids to Navigation Teams.

Captain Florentino served in multiple operational assignments including: Deck Watch Officer  summer Ensign aboard USCGC EAGLE; Operations Officer aboard USCGC BUTTONWOOD in San Francisco, CA; Operations Officer aboard USCGC JUNIPER, in Newport, RI; Commanding Officer aboard USCGC KATHERINE WALKER in Bayonne, NJ; and Commanding Officer aboard USCGC CYPRESS in Pensacola, FL.

Captain Florentino earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Dartmouth College's Tuck School of Business in 2010. Subsequently, she served in the Coast Guard's Office of Financial Transformation and Compliance. In 2011, her team was critical in leading the Coast Guard to its first unqualified external financial audit opinion, and she was awarded the DHS Excellence in Financial Management award. Other staff billets include two tours at the Leadership Development Center in New London, CT; first as an Officer Candidate School Instructor, and subsequently as the Officer Candidate School Chief. As the School Chief, she oversaw accession training and leadership development for more than 50% of active duty Officers, 100% of reserve Officers, and 100% of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Officers.

Captain Florentino is a native of Norwich, Connecticut and graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research. She is married to Robert Barton of Maplewood, NJ. They have two children, Claire and James.

Master Chief Robert W. Linn
Command Senior Chief

Master Chief Robert W. Linn assumed duties as Command Senior Chief, Sector Sault Sainte Marie, in June 2018. Master Chief Linn's previous assignments include Engineer Petty Officer of CGC ANACAPA in Petersburg, AK, Engineer Petty Officer of CG Aids to navigation Team Hampton Roads in Portsmouth, VA, CGC BELUGA in Norfolk, VA, CGC MUSTANG in Steward, AK, CGC POLAR STAR in Seattle, WA, CGC CHOCK in Portsmouth, VA, and Machinery Technician Class "A" School.

Master Chief Linn is a proud graduate of the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Academy Class 185, and the Coast Guard Senior Leadership Course Class 61. He holds multiple certificates in organizational leadership disciplines and is a professionally trained and certified executive coach.

Master Chief Linn's personal awards include three Coast Guard Commendation medals with Operational Distinguishing devices, one Coast Guard Achievement Medal with Operational Distinguishing device, and two Commandant Letters of Commendation with Operational Distinguishing device, and various other personal and unit awards. He has earned his permanent Cutterman and Advanced Boat Forces insignias.

Master Chief Linn is a native of Columbus, OH, and is married to the former Miss Tancy Lee of castle Rock, CO (a Coast Guard veteran of eight years). Together they have three children, Moira, Magnus, and Beatrice. They enjoy lifelong learning, being stationed in remote places, and providing their children with new and exciting experiences.
